In our struggle to educate the community, Sserinya primary school is already in place and enrolling youngsters of ages from 4 to 16 years. These are classes from Nursery to Primary seven. Once the youngsters are given all the resources they need, they can surprise all of us beyond our expectations.
Our children are yearning to acquire knowledge, but are limited in the reading material they can read to acquire the knowledge they need. Teachers are also limited in sources of knowledge.
It is great work so far done by Business for Better Society (BBS) under the lead of Ms. Kelly Brantner, together with Gum dropbooks and Sylvia Hirsche Memoria Library for mobilising children’s books that have so far arrived to school. from Canada. This shipment arrived in Uganda and was received by the school in early March 2021. These children story books are already helping them to learn and comprehend English, as they learn other objects around them.
As the school progresses, more books are still needed for them to learn more subjects, and languages, especially English and their local languages.
