Our children complete levels of education

Years have come to pass, since 2009 when SCOU came into inception. A number of successes are coming the greatest of all being the establishment of Sserinya Primary school.

The school covers all classes from Nursery to P7, the highest level at the primary section. Sserinya primary school had the first candidates of P7 in 2009, and these were 5. These were:

  1. Nakalema Annet, a born of Kabagabo village
  2. Nalubega Joan, a born of Kabagabo village
  3. Nakalema Sharifa, a born of Kayijja
  4. Lwanga Charles, a born of Mazinga
  5. Namyalo Joan, a born of Mazinga

It was a great milestone! We are glad that three of these pioneers 2022 have completed their Ordinary level this year 2022. The first three completed their Ordinary level from St Kalemba S S VIlla Maria, a school located in Kalungu district.

This milestone has been reached with the help of the many friends of Sserinya. Many have a great contribution to the construction and establishment of Sserinya primary school (Structures, books, desks, teacher salaries) and sposoring education of children in our community.

All these children have had sponsorships from some of the friends of SCOU. Without the help of people like these, the education of  many of our children would be either at a standstill or no more. SCOU is now preparing to have nurses who are going to give medical attention to the people in their community they come from.

My Name is Nakalema Annet. I come from Kabagabo VIllage, in Mazinga. I thank Sserinya community organisation for finding for me My Sponsor Mr Nahual, who has walked with me this journey, from primary and now I have completed my O Level. I see my dream of becoming a nurse coming true. Without his help, I would not make it to be where I am. I hope to be a very important person for my community.

My Name is Nakalema Sharifah. I come from Katiina VIllage. I sat my P7 in Sserinya primary school in 20017, and have now completed my O level at St Kalemba s s villa maria. I thank my sponsor, Ms Craciella for being there for me upto now. After this level, i hope to Join Advanced level to continue my studies come next year. WIthout her support, I would not have completed this level. May God bless your so much.

What about in Sserinya Primary School?

Another group of the final year primary seven pupils sat their final exams this month. Sseriya primary school had 15 pupils this year. These children are ready to continue with their secondzry education as the results are returned by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) and shall have to be placed in various secondary schools.

We warmly thank the friends of Sserinya who have made many things happen to our learners, mainly in ensuring proper and better education for them, from feeding, reading and writing materials, sponsorships, personal materials, teachers funds, among others.

There remain many more children that need a helping hand to continue their education. Some are in our primary school, others still at home, and others who sat their final exams at our school have no hope of coninuing their education! You can also save a soul.
