SCOU is a non profit organisation, that works for charity to see an improvement in Education, Health, Environmental conservation and sustainable wellbeing in the community. This all begins from the already established school, Sserinya Primary School. As our children prepare to return to school for their term three 2023, the excitement in the air is palpable as the second term holidays come to a close. Some have surely had a wonderful break filled with adventures and relaxation, while others seem to have had the opposite, but nevertheless, it’s time to get back to the books and prepare for promotion to the new classes. As we welcome you back, we thank God for having kept all of you and the amazing staff alive and ready for the promotional term. In November this term, we shall see yet another cohort of Primary seven pupils writing their final exams. We wish them all the best.

The joy of re-union

Seeing the smiling faces of our Sserinya Primary School students as they return to school is an absolute delight. We’ve missed their energy and enthusiasm, and we can’t wait to embark on another term of learning, growth, and friendship together. This upcoming term holds a world of possibilities. Together with the teachers and volunteers, we’re excited to witness many academic and personal achievements.

Supporting Our Students:

The financial aspect of education can be challenging for some families, especially after the holiday season and one has many dependants in a family. At Sserinya Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child has access to quality education. We believe that no student should be left behind due to financial constraints, though at times our hands are tied behind due to resources. Therefore, we’re here to help and support our children and their families with the help that we get from the friends of SCOU.

We are grateful to the many friends, donors and sponsors that have heard our call. By virtue of reading this article, you are already a friend here, and we believe you can consider supporting a child in our school in any way. Engage us today.

How you can help:

If you are in a position to assist any child, we encourage you to consider making a donation to our school for any of the above items, directed to an identified child or children. No penny is too small to donate! Your contribution can make a significant difference in the lives of those facing financial hardship. Together, we can create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment.

To start the term on the right foot, it’s essential that every student comes prepared with the necessary school supplies but many at times fail to provide even the basic for their children. Among these requirements are:

      1. School fees
      2. Textbooks and notebooks for each subject.
      3. Writing materials (pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, etc.).
      4. School uniforms and shoes.
      5. Backpacks to carry their books and supplies.
      6. Sanitary towels for the adolescent girls.

Meeting school fees and these other requirements has always been a financial burden for some parents but we have always encouraged parents not to hesitate to reach out to the school administration for a dialogue. We also seek various support options from various sources available, including organisations and individuals who can support such children. Our goal is to ensure that every student can continue their education without disruption.

Conclusion:

As the new term begins, let’s approach it with optimism, determination, and a sense of unity. Sserinya Primary School is more than just a place of learning; it’s a community where we support and uplift each other. Let us all work together to ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive academically and personally.

Welcome back, Sserinya team and children – let's make this term a memorable and successful one!
